Assistant Manager, Trade Operations

Emirates NBD Bank (P.J.S.C) Singapore Branch Trade Operations provides quality end to end Service Delivery of Trade transactions in accordance to ENBD Group directives. The team ensures compliance to Group policies and procedures, local regulatory requirements and guidelines, review of processes to ensure effective controls and efficiency is in place. The unit works closely with ENBD Head Office IT, GOPs and outsource partner to leverage on technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations.

**MAIN DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Business Strategy & Performance**:

- Supports the end to end delivery of Trade processing to customers under the hub/spoke model
- Monitors/Controls all transactions received by the branch and ensure smooth delivery and achieves Branch’s performance and contributes to achieving business goals
- Works with relevant stakeholders on delivery of business performance for the branch
- Ensures adherence to service level and quality standards

**Operations & Control**:

- Ensures Trade Operations procedures are being followed and deviation escalated
- Monitors and manages daily end to end delivery of services meets SLA and customers experience are not compromised
- Ensures appropriate controls via timely updates on reconciliations through support and ongoing engagement levels with Finance and relevant business/ support units
- Regular process review to eliminate erroneous steps or processes.
- Tracks and ensures system & process issues are resolved and control gaps are addressed

**Operational Risk**:

- Manages and escalates errors in processing, system errors. Works with relevant parties to resolve issues
- Regular process reviews to eliminate erroneous steps or processes.
- Reviews errors resulting in operational losses and revise processes to address any risks or control issues
- Engages stakeholders to resolve any operational risk issues
- Supports and ensure Business Continuity is robust and carried out as per Business Impact Analysis (BIA)

**Oversight over outsourced arrangements**:

- Ensures Service Level Agreements for services relating to Operations are adhered to
- Ensures Service Level standards are met and escalated non-adherence to SLA
- Ensuring adherence to MAS guidelines on outsourcing

**Initiatives / Projects**:

- Ensures for all initiatives or project rolled out to Singapore branch, all regulatory requirements, compliance guidelines, Head office Policies etc are taken into considerations.
- Supports and assists Head of Trade Operations on any related automation and technology initiatives
- Supports and assists Head of Trade Operations in design of new process taking into consideration system capability, policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, reporting requirement etc
- Supports and assists in rollout of new systems, working closely with stakeholders in business, HO IT, Compliance, Finance
- Proactive engagement with project teams on User Acceptance Tests (UAT)
- Supports and assists in migration and post migration risks from System implementation

**ESSENTIAL JOB KNOWLEDGE**:

- Knowledge of Trade products, UCP/ISP rules
- Intermediate level knowledge of all applicable trade products and best practice of Trade financing and processes
- Understanding of Wholesale Banking business

**SKILLS / TECHNICAL & PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS**:

- In-depth knowledge of Trade products, rules under UCP/ISP, URDG etc is a must.
- Previous experience of working in a multi-cultural dynamic environment is desirable
- Prior work experience of at least 5 years
- Minimum A-levels/Polytechnic diploma
