Ground Handling Operations Assistant Manager

**Scope**:

- To oversee, manage and guide your team overlooking the daily operations with a high degree of sound judgement and initiative.
- Plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee activities associated with ground handling services including customer service, aircraft fuelling, airside operations, hangar-ramp movements, and the teams performing these duties in accordance to defined processes and safety standards
- Review operational processes and propose areas of improvement to achieve operational efficiency and support
- Provides strong leadership to team through clear communication, motivation, and encouragement; structured and organized actions; positive work environment to ensure highest possible service levels are achieved and employee relations issues are minimized
- Main priority will be to ensure customers’ needs are always met or exceeded
- Responsible for staffing actions, including hiring, dismissal, discipline, evaluation, priorities setting, and counseling employees through coordination with Ops & Safety Manager and HR
- Direct involvement with all aspects of team management including, but not limited to, roster planning, shift planning, leave/off/overtime management, training, and compliance to work process
- Train, mentor, skill set development, supervise, and continually evaluate team members
- Providing coaching and managing team’s performance and develop the individual in their respective roles
- Strive for continuous improvements and ensure employees join forces to communicate, stay customer focused, improve work performance and maximize potential
- Review areas of innovation and enhancement to ensure no customer mishandling and satisfactory customer service on the ground.
- Inspect vehicles and all ground support equipment, ensure maintenance schedules are observed, high level of cleanliness and safety procedures are complied with
- Ensure and enforce governmental agency compliance and industry best practices in all operational areas and among all training, safety, and security standards
- Liaise on a continual basis with fellow airport operators and airport authorities, including overseas airport authorities and FBOs for overflight/landing/handling coordination for aircraft operators
- Coordinate and oversee third party service providers ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Formulate an emergency response plan in the event of a fire, aircraft incident or accident, or any other emergency through coordination with Ops & Safety Manager
- Be conversant and compliant with relevant policies, applicable laws, safety and aviation regulations, especially IS-BAH and ISAGO standards.
- Recognize discrepancies in ground handling service delivery and provide leadership to make positive change.
- Review, develop, and ensure fully updated set of Ground Ops manuals and Standard Operating Procedures are produced, maintained, and controlled
- Conduct regular internal audit check and reporting of ground handling equipment and handling procedures.
- Required to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- _Must have a minimum of five years of experience in the aviation industry _with in both leadership and hands-on roles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Be an active team leader with exemplary management, communication, and decision making skills
- Highly Experienced in airside operations and a good understanding of aircraft types and the business aviation industry
- Flexibility, self-motivated, and a positive attitude
- Experienced in ground handling standards such as ISAGO or IS-BAH or have been played a significant role in an airport audit on airside operations.
- Demonstrate good decision making skills, able to think on the spot, solution driven mindset and successful leadership of a diverse group of employees
- Possess personable traits in order to be relatable to customers and foster client relations and communication
- Be able to drive results with high personal accountability and have a strong record in a leadership role in an FBO or equivalent facility
- Must possess a valid Driving license within minimum 5 years actual driving experience
- Demonstrate previous success in customer relations, management, and other performance areas
- Possess strong ethics including honesty, integrity, and trustworthiness
