We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a **Product Specialist/Trader.**

**Principal Responsibilities**
- Role is part of Equities Product Desk and will report into the Head of Equities
- Work closely with the Head of Equities to build out and grow the desk’s Dedicated Advisory & Dealing proposition that span both Equities as well as Equity-linked structured productss
- Take on select equity sector coverage responsibility working closely with colleagues within the bank (regional and global counterparts as well as other stakeholders within the bank)
- Help maintain the advisory infrastructure: stock coverage list, investment rationale for stocks, sector sheets, client[1]friendly presentation decks, etc.
- Present in morning meetings on a regular basis, participate in RM/IC huddles to discuss equity ideas and develop traction with such teams
- Participate in external client meetings, undertake client portfolio reviews from an equity perspective
- Participate in client events such as Webinars, Podcasts, Product Day events, etc., as needed
- Work in developing an advisory proposition for shortlisted clients
- Help with processes relevant to the Equity desk - Product due diligence, Product risk rating, IPOs and private placements
- Keep track of daily, weekly, and monthly flows - Notional traded by volume and value with split across markets
- Familiarize with various dealing processes and procedures
- Assist in documentation of various advisory and dealing processes as may be needed from time to time.
- Ensure HSBC internal control standards are maintained, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators

Requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of the key equity markets, especially US, HK, China, Singapore and Europe and good broad-based understanding of key equity sectors is essential
- Strong presentation skills and ability to present in an articulate manner in large group, small group and 1x1 settings
- Educational qualifications: University Graduate or other relevant professional qualifications
- Client Advisor Competency Standards and FMRP certifications will be an added advantage
- Language: Proficient in English. Ability to converse proficiently in Mandarin is an added advantage
