Commercial Manager

The Commercial Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by meeting sales targets, developing new business opportunities, and maintaining excellent client relations. This role involves actively engaging with clients through customer-facing activities, presentations, and service updates. This position operates within a high-volume, multi-transactional marine service environment, with a specific focus on Singapore's port. A background in a hunting role within chartering, commercial sales, or a similar field is highly desirable.
Reporting to: Head of Sales
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop sales leads and focus on revenue retention and growth to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Conduct market research and stay informed on industry trends to support the sales pipeline.
- Perform cold-calling and other prospecting activities to generate new business.
- Develop and sustain strong relationships with clients by adhering to best practices in client relationship management, providing regular service updates, and effectively addressing and resolving any issues or concerns.
- Negotiate agreements within defined commercial and operational parameters and prepare contracts.
- Prepare and analyse sales reports to support departmental objectives.
- Implement multi-modal sales outreach programs, including direct mailers, social media campaigns, and web content.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment of commercial strategies with operational goals.
- Provide insights and recommendations to the Head of Sales based on market data and sales performance.Carry out any other tasks as reasonably requested by the Management.
**Requirements**:
- Degree or Diploma in Marine Studies, Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven sales experience in the marine industry, particularly with high-volume, multi-transactional services.
- Self-motivated and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills to identify trends and sales patterns.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of port operations or ocean-going towages, with prior experience in the tug industry would be an added advantage.
