Job summary
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to lead a Finance team supporting our AWS Professional Services (ProServe) team. This role will be a key member of the AWS ProServe leadership team and will play a critical role in providing financial support for the rapidly growing AWS business. As a Senior Finance Manager, you will work side by side with business and finance leaders to develop business strategies, financial models, and analytical insights.
The AWS ProServe organization is a global team of technology experts that help customers realize their business outcomes (product launch, scale, and optimize) when using the AWS Cloud. AWS ProServe provides global specialty practices to support customer efforts in focused areas of enterprise cloud computing (e.g., AI & ML, Analytics, Robotics, Security, DevOps, etc.) as well as focused industries (e.g., Financial Services, Healthcare, Media, Automotive, Manufacturing, CPG, Energy, Public Sector, etc.).
Key job responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop the team, which is comprised of high performing finance professionals that support the multi-faceted aspects of our global business
- Drive the business to develop challenging goals, business plans, and financial plans and then help the business achieve these results
- Provide strategic support to key business initiatives and investment
- Play a critical role in cost management, controllership, pricing, business case development, decision-making, and metrics development
- Identify financial improvements, deep dive on cost structures, and analyze business deals with a keen eye on scaling for future growth and improving our customer experience
- Develop new performance metrics and rhythm of the business processes to drive accountability and controllership
- An MBA or MS in Finance, Economics, or a related field - Thinks strategically, but stays on top of tactical execution - Exceptional business judgment capable of driving a diverse organization to the right results with a focused, pragmatic approach - Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload - Proven skills to earn trust from business partnership and drive cross-organization changes - Demonstrated ability to influence decisions through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning and the presentation of alternatives - Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive employee career development - Has the innate ability to inspire passion in others - Builds processes and mechanisms that are scalable and avoid unnecessary complexity
