**Job Purpose**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
Tax Compliance and Reporting
- Responsible for tax accounting and effective tax rate analysis including review of quarterly IFRS tax reporting delivered by OEs to ensure compliance with IAS 12 and related accounting standards.
- Ensure a consistent approach to tax compliance, liaise with external tax agents who are preparing tax computations, returns and submissions. You will play a key part in advising the respective tax team in Operating Entities (OEs) on tax compliance matters, managing tax audits and advising finance on internal tax reporting obligations.
- Ensure compliance on transfer pricing regulations and avoid any potential permanent establishment risk to businesses across Asia Pacific region.

Tax Planning
- Support M&A transactions and provide input in due diligence, structuring and implementation phases.
- Provide proactive support to implement opportunities for enhancing tax management effectiveness and appropriate tax risk mitigation strategies
- Work with the global tax team to implement strategic tax initiatives and policies.

**Key Requirements**:

- Minimum 5 years of tax experience, preferably in an insurance company or Big 4 accounting firm
- Experience in tax accounting/reporitng (practical knowlege and experience of IAS12 and related accounting standards)
- Good understanding of insurance products and the impact of IFRS 9/17 standards.
- Experience in tax compliance practices for both direct and indirect tax, structuring and corporate tax planning actions
- Strong tax technical knowledge and commercial acumen
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong team player with good interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Fluent in English, additional Asian languages desired.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
- Self-motivated, demonstrating initiative and a pro-active approach
- Accounting or related degree and additional tax qualification would be advantageous
