
Fiduciary Leader, Asia Pacific

Guy Carpenter is hiring for a qualified and experienced leader for the Fiduciary function for the Asia Pacific Region, based in either the company’s Hong Kong or Singapore office.
The role will direct the Asia Pacific Fiduciary function to ensure best-in-class delivery of services, client satisfaction and on-budget, on-time operational efficiency and establish quality parameters for staff, operations and technology within the Fiduciary function.
This role reports to the Regional Head of Customer Support & Services (CSS), Asia Pacific and will oversee fiduciary teams based in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia.
**What you can expect**:
- Manages oversight of the APAC portfolio of Market/Client accounts to ensure all deadlines are met and time bound activities are addressed within defined parameters including (but not limited to) cash allocation, collections of brokerage and billings and resolution of fiduciary exposures.
- Drives fiduciary targets, including the use of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to facilitate reporting from the CSS Dashboard and other system tools.
- Ensures compliance on Senior Leadership service activity reporting and presents technical information for Management and Leadership to ensure documentation for the purpose of decision making.
- Leads regular dialogue and has frequent personal interaction with Market/Client contacts in order to drive resolution to issues related to payment and collection and are of advanced complexity.
- Leads actions on analysis of information on collection/remittance process in order to drive Request for Proposal (RFP) and sales opportunities.
- Leads gathering of inputs for the evolution of the operational model at all levels to drive new process improvement ideas, leveraging technology solutions.
- Leads strategic team meetings and activities in order to drive sharing of opinions, ideas, knowledge and solutions, drives actions plans based on the ideas and manages opportunities for team learning.
- Leads issuing of statements, collection of outstanding fiduciary balances and settlements in accordance with contract payment terms.
- Leads Implementation of procedures that minimizes E&O, financial, regulatory and currency exposures.
- Ensures all colleagues operate within published procedures and professional standards in order to achieve all processing metrics and department standards.
- Design of workarounds where there are system limitations and with appropriate controls.
- Approves fiduciary payments in CSS system ensuring any funding requests are approved in accordance with Global CSS Approval Limits.
- Supports any internal/external/regulatory audit requests in respect of fiduciary transactions.
- Collaborates with partners in Controllership and Finance to ensure all necessary Financial & Regulatory controls are adhered to.
- Performance management of employees including facilitation of annual performance review, bonuses and goal/objective setting
**What you need to have**:
- Good understanding of operational excellence with the ability to coach colleagues to implement strategies and manage change
- Experience leading and driving transformation and change - over the next 1-2 years there will be system changes to implement in the region
- Appreciation and experience of foreign currency transactions/exposures and ways to mitigate risks
- Understanding of internal controls to facilitate discussions with key stakeholders, such as Controllership, Finance and Auditors et al.
- Experience working in a Regulated environment
- A strong understanding of the accounting impact of fiduciary transactions and disclosures
- Ability to understand complex fiduciary issues and recommend solutions
- Ability to build and manage strong relationships with internal stakeholders throughout all levels and functions of the organization
- Strong leader with effective communication and influencing skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Quantitative, fact-based approach to decision making
- Demonstrated financial acumen and commercial mind-set
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
