- On the assigned vessels, offer daily assistance with Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality (HSSEQ) issues.
- Arrange Right Ship Inspections and internal/external shipboard audits.
- Keep an eye on/support the performance of the vessels through audit and inspection findings or regular visits. Organize the fleet team’s new tonnage intake (Management of Change).
- Keep an eye on and support the regular use of work permits, toolbox meetings, and shipboard risk assessment tools.
- Monitoring incidents, mishaps, NCRs, and near-misses.
- Carry out root-cause analyses.
- Encourage the improvement of quality and management systems (improvement of procedures, training etc.).
- Offer regular assistance in cargo-related areas:

- Assist our shipboard management with loading and unloading tasks and spot any operational standards that are not being followed (for Cape size vessels).
- Protected the effective execution of our cargo operations without compromising the standards for documentation, safety, and cargo quality control.
- Help with cargo issues, hereunder cargo claims, and other marine operational issues for the internal port captains and commercial operators.

**Requirements**:

- A Class I Certificate of Competency is preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a shore-based Marine Superintendent;
- Significant dry bulk shipboard experience as a seagoing officer (minimum rank as Chief Officer preferred);
- Significant sailing and/or shore experience in managing geared bulk carriers (minimum rank as Chief Officer preferred);
- Good knowledge of international maritime regulations and marine industry standards (ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISO 9001) and HSSEQ practices;
- Proven experience in conducting audits and root-cause investigations
