**Job Summary**:
The Chartering Manager - Dry Bulk is responsible for managing and executing the chartering of dry bulk vessels (Handysize to Supramax) on spot and period contracts. This role involves negotiating freight rates, optimizing vessel utilization, managing relationships with brokers and clients, and staying informed of dry bulk market trends to maximize profitability.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:
**1.**Vessel Fixing & Negotiation**:

- Source cargoes and match with suitable tonnage (owned or chartered).
- Negotiate and fix dry bulk vessels on voyage, time, or contract of affreightment (COA) basis.
- Handle pre
- and post-fixture activities to ensure smooth execution.
- Draft, review, and finalize charter party agreements (e.g., **GENCON**, **NYPE**, **SYNACOMEX**, etc.).

**2.**Dry Bulk Market Monitoring**:

- Track global dry bulk markets, focusing on commodities like coal, iron ore, grains, bauxite, and fertilizers.
- Analyze freight trends, vessel supply/demand, bunker prices, and port congestion.
- Use data to provide freight forecasts and identify strategic opportunities.

**3.**Relationship Management**:

- Develop and maintain relationships with cargo owners, traders, shipowners, and chartering brokers.
- Represent the company in chartering meetings, industry events, and networking platforms (e.g., **Baltic Exchange**).
- Liaise with shipbrokers to secure competitive rates and reliable tonnage.

**4.**Operational Coordination**:

- Work closely with operations, legal, and finance teams to ensure proper voyage execution.
- Resolve operational disputes or claims arising from charter parties.
- Monitor vessel performance and voyage profitability metrics.

**5.**Documentation & Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of fixtures, voyage data, and freight invoices.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly chartering reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Trade, Logistics, or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on chartering experience in dry bulk shipping.
- Strong knowledge of dry bulk vessel types, cargoes, and trade routes. Preferably Pacific/ SE Asia Trade would be advantangeous
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Familiarity with charter party clauses and shipping contracts.
- Ability to assess risks and make quick commercial decisions.
- Proficiency with maritime software (e.g., IMOS, Baltic Exchange tools, Excel, Netpass).

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Established network of dry bulk cargo interests and vessel owners.
- Multilingual skills are a plus (especially for dealing with global clients).Experience handling COAs and period charter contracts.
