We are seeking a highly motivated **Chartering Manager **to join our expanding team here in Singapore:
A Chartering Manager is a pivotal role within the shipping industry, primarily responsible for coordinating the chartering of vessels for transporting goods, commodities, or passengers. The job description typically includes a range of duties and qualifications:

- **Chartering Coordination**: Facilitate the chartering process by negotiating contracts with ship owners, charterers, brokers, and agents. Coordinate vessel bookings, ensuring optimal routes, schedules, and cargo handling procedures.
- **Market Analysis**: Stay updated on market trends, freight rates, vessel availability, and regulatory changes affecting the shipping industry. Conduct market research to identify potential business opportunities and risks.
- **Client Management**: Build and maintain relationships with clients, including shippers, freight forwarders, and cargo owners. Address client inquiries, provide assistance, and offer solutions to meet their shipping requirements.
- **Financial Management**: Develop and manage chartering budgets, analyze cost-effectiveness, and optimize revenue generation. Monitor expenses, charter rates, and financial performance to maximize profitability.
- **Risk Management**: Assess and mitigate risks associated with chartering activities, including market fluctuations, operational challenges, legal compliance, and safety regulations. Implement appropriate risk management strategies to safeguard assets and ensure business continuity.
- **Contract Negotiation**: Negotiate charter party agreements, terms, and conditions with relevant stakeholders. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, legal standards, and industry best practices.
- **Operational Support**: Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, logistics, and finance, to streamline chartering processes and achieve operational efficiency. Coordinate vessel inspections, documentation, and compliance procedures as required.
- **Communication and Reporting**: Maintain effective communication channels with internal teams and external partners. Prepare regular reports, presentations, and updates on chartering activities, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

**Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in maritime studies, business administration, logistics, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., Chartered Shipbroker) may be preferred.
- Proven experience in chartering, shipping operations, or maritime logistics, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of international shipping regulations, charter party contracts, maritime law, and industry standards.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data, financial reports, and industry trends.
- Strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment. Flexibility to travel and work outside regular business hours as needed.
