**About this role**
Sitting within the Southeast Asia energy business, you would fit into an established technical, consulting team, based in Singapore. You will work on a range of Southeast Asian assignments, predominantly as the lead for grid modelling, grid connection and electrical interconnector studies, and support on other related renewable energy and storage projects. Relevant workstreams would cover concept design, grid modelling (Powerfactory, PSCAD, PSSE), feasibility studies and front-end engineering design through to detailed design and owner’s engineer capacity. As the technical lead for transmission and distribution (T&D), your role would involve leading, directing and scoping projects, shaping the Arup grid studies business and mentoring and training staff. You would be responsible for the technical delivery and oversight of all T&D projects within Singapore as well assist the team leader and local business leader for the required ongoing growth of the T&D market and team.

**What will I do?**
- Lead the growth of the grid modelling, grid connection and interconnection business in Singapore and across Southeast Asia, while assisting the other regional teams by working in close collaboration with Business Leaders to build client relationships, secure pipeline and negotiate major contracts.
- Taking responsibility for the current and future overall performance of the T&D business, as part of the Energy, Environment and Resources management team.
- Developing and implementing longer term plans in line with the Arup business strategy in general and the Energy strategy in particular.
- Supporting the development, design and management of large, complex, long-term projects. This will involve coordinating people, facilities, and resources within tight timelines and in line with budgetary constraints.
- Supporting the Energy Team Leader in relation to recruitment, appraisals, performance development, morale and motivation.

**What will I bring?**
- Demonstrable experience in delivering electrical network studies, T&D design and energy advisory projects and credibility to be able to influence the project development processes with our key clients.
- Experience in the power systems sector, gained through employment/project experience with electricity utilities, electrical equipment OEM, and engineering consultancies.
- Technical excellence in in the field of electrical power systems with at least ten (10) peer-reviewed publications in international conferences or journals.
- Demonstratable ability in the performance of power system modelling and studies using commercial tools including Digsilent Power Factory, PSS/e and PSCAD. Demonstratable programming/scripting skills for automation of power system studies.
- Extensive experience in business development, tender preparation (technical & commercial), commercial negotiation and project management of large energy-related projects within a consulting business environment
