We are seeking an analyst with experience in the following areas: data investigation and analysis, systems and/or risk controls design, process and product transformation, and an understanding of technology strategy, to deliver on our core mission: to reduce and prevent harm. The technical analyst will employ a multifunctional approach to investigate and understand high harm trends on the platform, identify gaps in platform controls and drive cross functional projects to improve internal processes and risk management tools.

What will I be doing?
- You can expect your working week to be allocated as follows:

- 40% investigation on high priority escalated issues
- 20% follow up on completed investigations to close off risks
- 40% strategic projects and developments
- You form part of a specialised multi-functional team that operates both regionally and globally and is focused on resolving large-scale, mature-state platform problems.
- You'll work cross-functionally with policy, product managers, program managers, engineering teams, supporting investigations and operations teams from initial issue escalation to closure. In the process performing the following (non-exhaustive): information collection and coordination, investigation and behavioural pattern identification, gaps/weakness identification in our systems and controls, recommend solution, follow-up with further analyses and advice stakeholders where necessary.
- You will investigate threats and profile their behaviour to generate insights for data analysts and engineers to build features and improve detection models and refine strategies.
- Through execution of daily platform risk management operations, you will develop best practices, risk indicators, tooling and product improvements thus actively contributing to long term improvements in Trust and Safety's internal products and processes.

**Qualifications**:
What should I bring with me?
- You have 5+ years of working experience with at least 3+ years of experience in relevant domains (or domains with transferable skill sets) such as Trust and Safety, Risk Management, Investigations, Anti-Fraud, Product/Platform Operations or Cyber Security.
- E.g. Investigating and profiling prolific fraudsters with malicious behaviour in a big data environment and identifying actionable solutions at policy, business process, product feature and/or risk engine level.
- You are comfortable with developing insights from data and understand how real world behaviour translates into online behaviour and the data generated on a social media platform.
- You have experience investigating high harm trends and/or threat actors across markets and understand how local culture and behaviour can influence the data.
- You are able to employ hypothesis based approach or evidence-driven investigation with SQL in a big data environment and communicate findings via a written report and/or presentation to explain the underlying risk, current gaps/weaknesses and recommendations to close the issue.
- You have a general understanding of how to deal with platform risks in terms of:

- Strategy: A long term view towards the risk trends and the ability to co-create with stakeholders a roadmap or detailed next-steps that progressively solves the problem and addresses the root causes
- Operations: Ability to perform essential activities required in risk lifecycle and provide advice to stakeholders: Identify, Assess, Monitor, Review.
- Tools & Techniques: Effective approaches and/or technological solutions
- e.g. Feature engineering/metrics development, visualisation/dashboards for monitoring, coordination of work on complex projects or complex stakeholder relationship, detection calibration (ML approaches) etc.
