As part of our expansion plans, we are now seeking to recruit a senior mechanical to help establish our presence in Singapore, and to grow the business there. We therefore wish to initially recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer with the following skills:
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree level education in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years professional experience in the field of critical systems engineering and commissioning
- Must have experience leading projects in the data center and mission critical sector as main point of contact to Client and other stakeholders, in the role of Comissoining Manager
- In addition to commissioning experience, should have experience in other scopes such as technical due diligence, MEP peer review and MEP design.
- Must have experience of having direct reports as a line manager for a team of 3 or more people
- Must have experience working with international blue-chip Clients
- Should have experience working on projects in 2 or more different countries in the APAC region, including Singapore.
- Must have business development experience and an established network of contracts in the data center sector in Southeast Asia.
- Must have worked on large scale data center projects 20MW and above
- Must be fluent in English, Bahasa (Indonesian or Malay) and Chinese

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- The engineer would have a high degree of autonomy and would therefore need to be highly motivated to achieve the level of quality and work expected of him/her.
- Report directly to the Singapore Director and work to achieve satisfactory conclusions from a highly results-driven organization
- Work in the role of Commissioning Manager on one or more projects, acting as main point of contact for internal and external communications
- May be involved in other scopes such as technical due diligence, MEP peer review, or MEP design.
- The engineer would oversee a small team of 5 or more engineers both on a project basis and in the role of a line manager.
- Undertake business development by maintain Client relationships, develop new leads, completing fee proposals and attending tender interviews.
- The role is a regional role and will require frequent travel and long-term placements in other countries in Southeast Asia on a project basis.
- Due to the nature of the work, overtime and evening and weekend work will be required during project peak periods.
- Maintain good technical knowledge of the industry and relevant Data Centre Commissioning experience
- Maintain clear communication with other IDA offices for reporting and sharing of knowledge and experience Occasional travel outside of Singapore for project work, meetings and internal reporting and training
