Science Research Laboratory Technician

This role forms part of the core team in our Science Research Centre. The job responsibilities are covered under two primary areas:
**Job Descriptions:
Administration
- To ensure efficient and effective daily running of the respective laboratories in the Science Research Centre (SRC)
- To manage stock inventory and acquire all resources necessary for the laboratories
- To maintain proper documentation for all work processes
- To supervise laboratory attendants
- Any other duties as assigned by the school

Laboratory Duties
- To put in place and enforce safety protocols in the laboratories
- To prepare materials for student research projects and enrichment courses
- To assist mentors in supervising students when they work in the research laboratories
- To train students in technical skills and guide them on the proper disposal of the experimental materials
- Ensure/carry out maintenance of all equipment in the laboratories
- Any other duties as assigned by the school

**Requirements**:

- At least a Diploma in STEM-related fields (Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline), and training in Biology-related fields will be an advantage
- At least 2 years of work experience in research laboratories in institutional or educational settings
- Team player, and at the same time, able to work independently
- With a keen eye for detail and meticulous in carrying out duties
- Resourceful and adaptable, enjoy work that requires customisation to meet the needs of research groups
- Able to multi-task and works well under pressure
- Good written and spoken communication skills, necessary to engage stakeholders (students, teaching and non-teaching staff, and external parties) effectively.
