**The role**

The GBG Legal Team plays a vital role in the success of GBG’s business. As a team, our aim is to adopt a market leading customer-centric stance, both to our external customers and internal stakeholders. We’ve been recognised for the contribution we make and for our initiatives to streamline processes and to provide commercial legal support to this fast paced and innovative organisation.

**What you will do**
- Negotiating high value, complex and often multi-jurisdictional contracts with GBG’s APAC customers, partners and suppliers
- Providing pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice on new products, services, technology and entry into new APAC markets
- Advising on new and innovative ways of using personal data, artificial intelligence and machine learning
- Building deep business partnering relationships with a broad group of GBG team members in multiple countries
- Working collaboratively with your Global Privacy, Legal, Risk and Regulation team members to ensure that your legal advice appropriately reflects regulatory requirements and GBG’s risk appetite
- Monitoring and tracking new legal and regulatory risks in the APAC region including seeking external counsel

**To help you be successful, we’re looking for**
- A senior lawyer (6+ Years post qualification) with prior experience advising on APAC cross border issues, admitted to the Supreme Court of Singapore as an advocate and solicitor
- Also be admitted to practice in other jurisdictions e.g. Malaysia, China, Indonesia, etc
- Commercial contracts and privacy expertise, preferably gained in a technology or data-centric business in the APAC region
- Previous in-house experience is desirable, although this role could also be suitable for a lawyer with a private practice background moving in-house
