Associate Pastor

We are looking for someone with experience as a pastor (any capacity) to serve alongside the current lead pastor. One of our pastors has retired and our current lead pastor will either retire or serve in a reduced capacity after around two years.

You would be probably be someone in you forties and have decided that God has called you to serve his people. You would have had formal theological training, preferably with an M Div. from a reputable Seminary. You would be ordained or ordainable.

You would be able to fit into one or two possible tracks.

Track 1

You will serve on the pastoral track with ordination in view if you are not yet ordained or your credentials are not transferable. You will have a transition of arond two years to become the new lead or solo pastor. Your spiritual and personal qualities should be well rounded. You would be spiritually mature. You would have a pastoral heart for God's people. You would have a deep personal walk with God. We recognize that no single person is good in everything, but you should have qualities and abilities that make you suitable for the role you will eventually assume. Such as: envisioning, organizational skills, and a strong pulpit ministry. In short, you have everything a church needs from a lead or solo pastor.

Track 2

We are looking for someone who has a calling to serve God in a church as a pastor, who has the same qualities as someone in Track 1 but does not think he is ready to take over a church in two years. You may feel you are lacking in one or two areas, such as a strong pulpit ministry. In this situation, you will take over all the pastoral duties within gthe same two year timeframe and be the lead pastor with the exception of the pulpit ministry. The current lead pastor is willing to remain serving as as a pastor-teacher, to support you and give you more time to develop this aspect of the ministry.
