**As an Assistant Principal (Academic)**:
1. Fostering an environment of reflective practice and development, leading by example in all aspects of personal and professional development

2. Developing and maintaining a culture of high expectations for oneself and others

3. Keeping abreast of developments in educational research and best practice, relevant to the specific responsibilities of the role, and advising the Academic Leadership Team of their relevance and potential impact on the school

4. Playing an active part in the collaborative working of the Academic Leadership Team, and contributing to the process of strategic academic planning

5. Leading by example as a teacher, leader and manager, achieving high standards of pupil achievement and motivation through excellent teaching

7. Ensuring that the Department Development Plans for those departments line managed are fit for purpose, aligned with the school’s overall development priorities, implemented effectively and evaluated regularly

8. Supporting the day-to-day running of the Senior School, as a member of the Senior School Management Team 9. Supporting the development and maintenance of relevant school policies and procedures

10. Contributing to the school’s marketing and admissions activity as and when required, including attendance at relevant events

11. Completing supervisory duties, as required by senior staff, and directed through published rotas

13. Contributing to the staff recruitment and selection process as required

14. Attending school functions as appropriate

15. Providing reports to the Vice Principal (Academic) and Principal as and when required

16. Contributing fully to, and leading some aspects of, the school’s academic enrichment programme

**Assessment, Reporting and Data**

1. Ensure that the Senior School data is shared, understood and used effectively to support classroom practice at an individual and departmental level.

2. Ensure that the Senior School’s internal data including but not limited to internal exams and regular internal grades are promptly summarised and that reports are available to support decision-making processes for all key stakeholders.

3. Complete the annual analysis of external exam results to support all key stakeholders in decision-making.

4. Use data to identify underperformance and monitor the efficacy of subsequent support.

5. Work collaboratively with SSMT, JSMT and the wider IT team to ensure that the school’s systems support the effective use of data and reporting.

6. Ensure that the baseline testing for students is completed and summarised for key stakeholders to inform practice.

7. Coordinate the reporting process to ensure that reports to parents are timely, relevant and of a high standard. 8. Organise and manage the Senior School’s assessment, reporting and tracking policies and procedures.

9. Construct the timetable and associated invigilation rota for any internal exam series. These currently include Annual Exams (G6-11), G12 Mock Exams and G10 Progress tests.

10. Communicating internal exam-related information to all key stakeholders.

11. Support the AP (Curriculum) with the process of gathering Options choices from students in G5, G8 and G10 in an efficient and effective manner.

12. To construct the Homework timetable for the Senior School and ensure that it is visible to all stakeholders, adhered to and meets the needs of the curriculum.

**Pastoral Care**:
17. Supporting the strong pastoral emphasis within NLCS (Singapore)

18. Liaising with and supporting the Heads of School and VP (Pastoral) in all matters pertaining to pastoral well-being, responsibility and strategy

19. Working alongside the Heads of School to contribute to pastoral and co-curricular activities that broaden students’ experiences and enhance the general life of the school

20. Liaising with relevant colleagues and parents with regard to the monitoring, support, review and well-being of tutees

21. Following the school’s policies and procedures with regard to pastoral provision

**Safeguarding**:
22. Abide by the school safeguarding policy and keep abreast of any changes
