Singapore PONTUS RESEARCH (ASIA) PTE. LTD. Full time

Pontus Group is a fully independent Research and Development (R&D) service provider, offering high-quality professional in-vivo R&D services to the aquaculture, marine and aquatics sectors. Pontus Research Ltd. was founded in 2014 in the UK and operates 10 research systems and a feed mill in Wales, while Pontus Research (Asia) Pte. Ltd. in Singapore was formed in 2020 and started running trials in 2021.

As Operational Laboratory Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day functioning of the research station & laboratory, ensuring efficient and safe operations. You will manage various aspects, including personnel, equipment, supplies, and adherence to regulatory requirements. You will also play a role in developing and implementing laboratory policies and procedures.

We are looking for self-motivated, ambitious people to take us to the next stage of our development in Asia; you will be self-motivated, able to work effectively with limited supervision, and have an inquisitive attitude.

Key Responsibilities of an Operational Laboratory Manager:
Supervising and Managing Personnel:
Overseeing laboratory staff, including technicians, and ensuring they are properly trained and competent.

Managing Research Operations:
Ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of all research activities, including sampling, sample processing, trial conducting, and data analysis.

Safety Compliance:
Implementing and enforcing safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all research personnel.

Quality Control and Assurance:
Ensuring that research operations adhere to quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Developing and Implementing Policies and Procedures:
Contributing to the development and implementation of laboratory policies and procedures to ensure efficient and consistent operations.

Budget Management:
Managing the laboratory budget and ensuring that funds are allocated effectively.

Documentation and Record Keeping:
Maintaining accurate records of laboratory activities, results, and procedures, as well as administrative compliances.

Collaboration with other departments:
Working with UK team, collaborators and subcontractors to ensure seamless operations.

Equipment Maintenance and Calibration:
Overseeing the maintenance, calibration, and repair of laboratory equipment to ensure its proper functioning.

Inventory Management:
Maintaining accurate records of supplies, reagents, and equipment, ensuring timely replenishment.

Qualifications and Skills:
**Education**:
A bachelor's degree in fish biology, aquaculture, or related discipline.

**Experience**:
Proven experience managing research operations, including personnel, equipment, and supplies.

**Skills**:Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential, as well as a strong understanding of research safety regulations and quality control procedures.
