Research Manager, Public Policy

The Research Executive will support and assist in the delivery of assigned research project activities and will have the opportunity to learn critical research skills and domain knowledge from senior researchers by conducting relevant current affairs, trends, and information, and thereafter translating them into insightful reports, commentaries, and briefings.

The Research Manager is responsible for planning and supervising research projects, monitoring project progress, supporting team members, implementing new methodologies, and writing reports, with capability in delivering the highest standard of service levels, acts quickly and positively in all aspects of research activities, working closely with relevant business units the incumbent will:

- Research, write and develop work produced and team deliverables, work collaboratively with the clients, internal stakeholders, and external vendors in a timely manner
- Deputise Line Manager when required to attend internal and external meetings, coordinate project delivery pipelines, and act as an effective ambassador for the team and the organization
- Lead briefings on emerging trends in the data, new strategic opportunities, and the synthesis of data, leveraging digital research-related tools, both internal and external, to enhance efficiencies and data analysis with the up-to-date research literature
- Review and analyse gathered data from research survey, studies, or a range of sources and synthesizes that information to determine the relevance and effect on the project for solutions conceptualisation and proposal writing
- Research and identify innovative research methodologies and initiatives to develop Public Policy techniques and solution offerings to address client’s strategic objectives
- Develop strong and effective collaborative relationships with clients of assigned project(s), research teams, and external vendors for tasks or processes that are outsourced
- Contribute to its sustainability through sufficient attention to both revenue and project costing, supporting the reporting manager as needed to spot opportunities and identify and mitigate risks as well as assist with professional development of his/her supporting researchers
- Keep abreast of industry and target market changes

**Critical Technical, Professional and Personal Capabilities**
- Degree in Marketing Science, Public Policy, Communications, Brand, Economics, or Social Science
- Possess 3-5 years of hands-on experience conducting custom marketing research projects of research and/or consulting experience (within government, public/third sector/academic, or at a research consulting firm)
- Ability to understand requirements, documentation, a good grasp of existing technologies with good communication skills to articulate concepts
- Creative, solution-oriented mindset with the drive to see plans through to implementation as well as can deliver content and key messages at scale
- Energetic, motivated, and capable of building relationships both internally and externally with project management knowledge and relevant skillsets
- A proven record of exemplary client service and a collaborative team player who is not afraid to articulate his or her points-of-view
- Organized, meticulous, and able to work under tight schedule, with the patience and perseverance to see through long timelines
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Bilingual (English and Mandarin/Malay/Tamil)
