Product Manager, Digital Workplace

**What the role is**

GovTech Digital Workplace manages G2E (Government-to-Employee) products for public officers across government agencies. It aims to enable a simplified, user-centric experience for public officers and transform how they work in the Future Workplace. Understanding and anticipating the user’s need is key, so that we build meaningful solutions for public officers. Some features we are developing include working in a hybrid workplace, team building and career development.
**What you will be working on**
The Product Manager (PM) is responsible for overseeing the conceptualization, development, product roll-out and continuous improvement of a set of product features. Throughout the process, the PM will also need to ensure that the product is operating within the budget allocated.
- Conceptualization: PM will need to study and lay down clearly the problems to be addressed, to conduct research and analysis to uncover market demand and trends to innovate, and to conceptualise potential products or features. Thereafter, the PM should work closely with business analysts and customer experience teams to research the users’ journeys and design the product features and experience. A proper cost benefit analysis should also be performed to assess the feasibility of the product.
- Development: PM will work closely with development/engineering teams, scoping business requirements, writing user stories and prioritising product backlog in collaboration with partners, translating the design concept into a working product, within budget and on schedule. This is done in an iterative manner, starting from a minimum viable product, and scaling it iteratively while testing at each stage to ensure that the product meets its objective.
- Product roll-out: PM will collaborate with key stakeholders to identify suitable milestones to launch the product feature. The PM will also have to discuss and create product go-to-market, adoption and usage strategies to deliver outstanding value proposition. When and where relevant, the PM will have to work with engagement colleagues to implement those strategies and achieve product goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Post launch, the PM will need to continue to monitor the usage and performance of the product to identify further opportunities for improvement. At an appropriate time, the PM should also be conscious of the product lifecycle, and plan and manage the product roadmap, addressing the evolving needs of users.
**What we are looking for**
- Proven product management experience in a fast paced, agile environment working directly with engineers and designers (ideally at least 5 years)
- Experience in modern product development/management technologies and practices such as Agile, Cloud, Design Thinking, and Product-Centric Development will be strongly preferred.
- Ability to understand business needs and challenges, working both independently and as a team player, with strong analytical, conceptualisation, problem-solving, planning and management skills. Building an experience that users love is hard work, where tenacity, perseverance and willingness to debate and learn is meaningful.
- Confidence in managing ambiguity, and the ability to put across sophisticated concepts simply and in an understandable manner, when working with and influencing stakeholders from across organisational boundaries.
- Relevant certifications such as CITPM, COMIT, PMP, and Certified Scrum Master.
- Degree in Computer Science/ Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline
- Excellent written, verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Experience in tender calls and presentations, project accounting and funding, and in Consulting, will be an added advantage.
