Guest Relations Officer

**JOB OVERVIEW**
Reporting to the Duty Manager, the Guest Relations Officer is responsible for all aspects of the front office (rooms division) role in day-to-day hotel operations.
**_RESPONSIBILITIES: _**
- Process all guest check-ins and check-outs, verifying guest identity, form of payment, assigning room, and activating/ issuing room key
- Upsells hotel room whenever possible
- Set up accurate accounts for each guest according to their requirements
- Enter TravelodgeR Rewards information
- Ensure rates match market codes, document exceptions
- Secure payment prior to issuing room key, verify/ adjust billing
- Compile and review daily reports/ logs/ contingency lists
- Complete cashier and closing reports
- Supply guests with directions and property information
- Accommodate guest request, contacting appropriate staff if necessary
- Follow up to ensure request have been met
- Process all payment types, vouchers paid outs, and charges
- Balance and drop receipts
- Count and secure bank at beginning and end of shift
- Obtain manual authorisation and follow all accounting procedures
**QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS**
**_Qualifications: _**
- Diploma in hospitality or tourism management or a related field with experience.
**_Experience: _**
- Minimum 1 year’ experience working in the same capacity
**_Personal qualities & attributes: _**
- Able to work on rotating shift, weekends, and PH
- Team player who is organised and able to work independently
- Outstanding communication and people skills
- Detailed oriented and strong customer service skills
- Can motivate fellow team members
- Mature, responsible and takes ownership
- Able to identify problems and issues in a pre-emptive manner, and escalate them to superior promptly
- Meticulous with strong attention to details with good follow-up
