Roles & Responsibilities Sybase DBA provides real time support to maintain the necessary functionality and respond to issues as they arise for Sybase Adaptive Server IQ, Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise, and Sybase Replication Server. Duties & Responsibilities Perform logical and physical database design, installing and configuring Sybase SQL Server 4.0 and 4.9 dataservers, built databases servers fixing corruption problems Interacting with and providing optimum solutions to clients on a wide array of products like Sybase IQ, Sybase Replication Server Architect, Design and Implement a next generation as-a-Service platform for Sybase Databases Work quickly and effectively to resolve or escalate production Sybase, Oracle or SQL issues at the first sign of detection using agreed monitoring and resolution processes Work quickly and effectively to resolve or escalate production Sybase, issues at the first sign of detection using agreed monitoring and resolution processes Updating the query and running the patch updates in Sybase database Implement and support Sybase Replication Server to replicate data between remote sites Support GTI and Line of Business (LOB) with major incidents, changes and customer requests Install and configure relevant network components to ensure database access database consistency and integrity Control-based remediation work permissioning analysis, new logins Skills for Sybase DBA Excellent knowledge of Sybase Versions ASE 12.5 through 15.7 Experience in design, build and manage Sybase database server. Excellent hands-on experience in cluster, Sybase replication server and HA. Strong Database architectural skills and knowledge in Design & build of Database systems. Experience in disaster recovery solutions design, implementation, and testing. Excellent cross-platform and same platform database migration experience. Experience in data center migration projects. Good understanding of migration lifecycle and phases involved. Provide best practice recommendation for new build or to be migrated database servers. Hands-on experience in database security implementation and follow the best practice. Experience in Patching, Upgrade, Tunning and Capacity planning. Database backup integration with third party backup tool i.e. Veem, Netbackup, data protector Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing problem resolution end - to-end. Experience in preparing technical documentation like HLD, LLD, SOP and As-Built documents. Excellent troubleshooting skill. Sound understanding of operating system and cluster. Knowledge of storage, backup, virtualization and SAN will be plus point. Knowledge of DNS, SMTP, NFS. Knowledge of scripting will be added advantage. Experience of secondary database technology experience is desired. Communication skill.
