Overview Job Title: Sybase Database Administrator Job Type: (Full-Time)Seeking a skilled Sybase Database Administrator to join our team. We are looking for a candidate with extensive experience in Sybase database administration, including version 12.x through 16.x, with a preference for experience in other versions. If you have a passion for database management, performance tuning, and are familiar with PostgreSQL administration at the L1 level, we'd like to hear from you. Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain Sybase SQL Server databases. Apply patches and updates to ensure the security and performance of Sybase databases. Perform regular backup and restore procedures for databases. Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning. Implement and manage replication and clustering in Sybase versions 12.x through 16.x. Participate in logical and physical database design and implementation. Assist in development support and debugging procedures. Administer databases on Unix, Linux, Win NT/2000/2003 platforms. Utilize basic DB scripting, DB Artisan, and shell scripts for database tasks. Gain L1 level experience in PostgreSQL administration. Qualifications Proven experience in Sybase database administration, with expertise in versions 12.x through 16.x. Experience with other versions is preferred. Strong knowledge of database installation, configuration, patching, and maintenance. Proficiency in database backup and restore procedures. Experience in database performance tuning. Familiarity with Sybase replication and clustering. Exposure to logical and physical database design and implementation. Ability to provide development support and debugging procedures. Proficiency in Unix, Linux, and Win NT/2000/2003 administration is desired. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Basic knowledge of DB scripting, DB Artisan, and shell scripting. L1 level experience in PostgreSQL administration is a plus.
