Legal Counsel, Youtube Music

Google will be prioritizing applicants who have a current right to work in Singapore, and do not require Google's sponsorship of a visa.

Minimum qualifications:

- Bachelor's of Laws, JD, a comparable law degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in commercial negotiations, with experience in digital music licensing agreements, negotiations ,and support of multi-territorial licensing entities.
- Qualified lawyer, with experience in private practice and/or an in-house team.
- Ability to travel 30% of the time.

Preferred qualifications:

- Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously and deliver on deadlines.
- Ability to take initiative.
- Excellent business judgment, organizational, and strategic/creative thinking skills.

In this role, you will be discuss, draft, and analyze a wide variety of music and video content licensing and related agreements for YouTube’s and Google’s digital media business. You’ll be analyzing and advising on legal issues relating to the use of music across Google products.

**Responsibilities**:

- Respond promptly to legal requests from Business Development, Licensing, Marketing, and other business areas.
- Discuss, draft, and review multi-territorial music and video content licensing agreements with record labels, music publishers, and collect insights for YouTube.
- Advise Business Development, Finance, and other company departments on legal issues and risks, complex agreement structures, approval processes, company policies and procedures, intellectual property, and advise on overall strategic positioning.
- Support continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes.
