Financial Controller, Singapore

**About the Role**

The Financial Controller is responsible for partnering with local leadership, regional leadership, and the other local market finance leaders. The role requires someone who has line management experience, is organized, forward-thinking, and possess excellent communication and analytical skills.

**Responsibilities**:
**Financial Reporting & Management**
- Partner with the local Managing Director to prepare and submit monthly Forecasts.
- Participate and support the Managing Director in monthly Business Performance calls with regional leadership.
- Prepare monthly high-level financial reporting and analysis summary, commentaries, and variance analysis.
- Manage the annual Budget process including developing financial strategy.

**Financial Control & Business Management**
- Ensure proper Cashflow Management by overseeing debt management and collection, group payments, payroll and capital expenditure.
- Review all CAPEX requests in line with Group policy.
- Ensure that month-end closing activities are completed within deadlines.
- Review P&L and Balance Sheet, identifying material variances vs forecast and articulating the results to the Managing Director and Regional Leadership.
- Review billing and WIP throughout the month, with an emphasis during month-end billing.
- Reconcile monthly payroll, verify staff plan of future hires are correctly reflected. Assist the Managing Director towards ensuring staff plan meets business expectations.
- Ensuring that overall financial processes and controls are in place and adhered to.

**Client Finance**
- Review client contracts and statement of works. Liaise with client procurement as required.
- Project pricing assessment and arrangements including exposure to cross border taxes.
- Own and maintain client pipeline reporting.

**Statutory Reporting**
- Oversee external audits ensuring regulatory requirements are promptly met.
- Liaising with tax agents, oversee the preparation and submission of annual corporate income tax.
- Liaise with corporate secretary on all statutory documents and filing matters.
- Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.

**Financial Systems**
- Finance expert and point of contact on internal GFS (Global Financial System) systems.
- Conduct GFS Project Manager training and participate in Business Manager refresher courses.

**Team Development**
- Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team comprising a Financial Accountant and Accounting Assistant.
- Conduct performance reviews including, regular check in’s and recommendations for development and promotion.

**About You**

The Financial Controller must demonstrate experience in accounting, financial reporting and controls, financial planning and analysis, and tax and treasury. They possess strong time management skills with hands-on experience, a “can-do” attitude, and be willing to get into the details. Has strong communication skills is an active listener with the ability to persuade and negotiate. They can advocate for and drive continuous improvements and collaborate with other functional areas to implement changes. Possess proficiency in financial accounting and reporting systems as well as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong English skills (verbal and written) required.
- Degree qualified in accounting.
- ACCA or CPA.
- 5+ years’ experience across marketing, PR, advertising, or similar industry preferably.
- 10+ years’ experience in Finance Manager, and above roles.
- Proven track record of leading and developing a Finance Team.
