Senior Lpg Trader

Axpo Group is the largest energy company in Switzerland and one of the major European energy trading players, active in 36 countries and more than 45 markets.

Axpo Singapore Pte Ltd (AXSG) was established in 2020 with the main focusto expand Axpo’s reach in Asia, covering LNG, LPG, powerand gas trading. The Senior LPG Trader will join a very dynamic team and a strong company, he will contribute to the growth of the global LPG book by leading the physical/hedging activities of Axpo LPG portfolio in Asia.

**Main duties
- Reach the Financial targets and manage assigned and shared books to maximize profitability
- Trade within internal and external compliance standards, respecting trading mandates, risk policies and defined limits
- Maximize profit through trading activites
- Support the Head LPG in set-up and develop the LPG desk
- Identify and exploit LPG trading opportunities by performing physical and financial LPG seaborne trading and hedging
- Conduct negotiations and contractual agreements with potential suppliers and customers
- Monitor and analyse the global LPG market
- Support and develop of business relationships
- Position Axpo physically and financially in the global LPG market and ensure that opportunities can be taken
- Identify new potential business relationships, suppliers and customers
- Take care of existing business relationships with suppliers and counterparties as well as of existing contractual relations as basis of a trust-based collaboration
- Identify potential suppliers of LPG and build useful business contacts with the aim of diversifying procurement routes
- Perform market research (fundamentals, quantitative models) and independently acquire knowledge for decision-making within assigned trading mandates
- Evaluate and monitor positions, identify trading opportunities and risks
- Manage relationships with internal and external contacts to maximize trading opportunities
- Support the implementation of back/mid office/risk processes
- Proactively participate in implementing and achieving the approved strategy of the LPG business
- Implement the approved LPG strategy
- Comply with internal guidelines and regulations (directives, code of conduct, risk policy etc.)
- Respect stop-loss and VAR limits
- Cooperate closely with operations department to ensure smooth and correct processes
- Proactively contribute to the business development of the LPG business and ensure cooperation with the other trading and origination desks as well as with Axpo’s Business and Corporate Functions
- Contribute to the business development of CEMT and ensure the cooperation of the LPG desk with the other trading and origination desks as well as with Axpo’s Busin
- Ensure efficient cooperation with different hubs

- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in fully-ref physical LPG trading and origination in the Far East
- In depth and outstanding knowledge of Eastern infrastructure, end-users, supply contracts and optimisation models for LPG trading in Asia
- Proven track record of building and cultivating relationships with major NGL players in the Far East(particularly Japan and Korea)
- Ability to implement a proprietary physical and hedging strategy
- Business development attitude/approach and willingness to start up and develop the LPG business
- Sound risk management skills and discipline in complying with risk mandates and limits of authorities. Deep understanding of financial and physical risks and ability to implement proper mitigation actions
- Sound analytical skills. Proposed trades must be based on strong and clear analysis
- Ability to devise and build a shipping strategy around physical supply. Experience in negotiating and chartering LPG ships will be a significant additional advantage
- Experience in origination and negotiations of long-term contracts with Middle Eastern producers
- Strong relationships with end users in the Far East(particularly Japan and Korea) with track record in closing LPG supply contracts

**Education**
- University Degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or similar
- IT knowhow: Office Suits, Deal Capture systems
- Advanced programming skills with one or more of the following: VBA,

Python, C# will be considered a plus
