Senior Oil Products Analyst

Energy Aspects is currently seeking a Senior NGLs/LPG Analyst, based in Singapore, to join our growing global team.

This is a fantastic career opportunity for a Senior Analyst, with a practical knowledge and understanding of Asian NGLs/LPG/naphtha/petrochemical markets, to help expand the LPG/NGLs service of a well-respected, established and rapidly growing energy markets research consultancy.

As a passionate energy markets analyst, you will play a central role in our LPG/NGLs service, closely following and anticipating the curve of Asian and global NGLs/LPG/naphtha/petrochemicals market developments.

With a confidence in making market calls, you will also have the ability to objectively explain any discrepancies, should the market move against your predictions. This role will require a deep knowledge of the abovementioned markets and its main demand sectors (petrochemicals, gasoline blending, res-com, etc.) and supply basin dynamics (gas/crude processing, trade flows).

These responsibilities will span the full cycle of our work, from upkeeping supply/demand/margins data models and monitoring market developments, through to writing concise analysis and responding to client requests.

**Duties**:

- Producing relevant and insightful reports and analyses on market movements, to highlight challenges and opportunities for traders, etc.
- Predicting and commenting on market movements, formally through our publications and on an ad-hoc basis with our clients.
- Keeping updated on any and all latest developments in the Asian and global NGLs/LPG/petrochemicals industry and subsequent impacts on fundamentals and pricing.
- Building and maintaining strong internal and external networks.
- Presenting our views to clients and media as required.

**Requirements**:

- Considerable experience in covering/analysing NGLs/LPG/petrochemicals markets.
- Strong analytical skills with a good understanding of all aspects of Asian and global NGLs/LPG demand and consequent production balances - including a strong understanding of petrochemical and naphtha markets—as well as trade flow dynamics.
- Experience running supply and demand balances and using these to analyse future pricing trends.
- The ability to meet deadlines and work effectively with others, including colleagues in different time zones, to deliver timely analysis will be critical.
- Strong MS Excel skills.
- Experienced and dynamic presentation skills to large and small groups.
- A strong eye for detail and drive to ensure content published is client ready and follows the company’s strong ethos.

**Desirable skills**:

- Existing relationships with a wide set of participants in the industry including financial/hedge funds, petrochemical firms, trading houses.
- Experience in public speaking and talking to the media would be useful.
- Mandarin language skills
- Data analysis and coding skills, using R, Python, Matlab, SQL or similar would be an advantage.
