As a Dry Etch Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be working with a team of other technicians and equipment engineers responsible for maintenance of tools (Preventive and Repairs) and strategic improvement of equipment Up-time, product quality and reliability, working on yield improvement, cost reduction, productivity improvement as well as resolving manufacturing line problems.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

- Demonstrates the necessary troubleshooting skills for Dry Etch area equipment
- Lead and drive the area TPM team and sustain TPM integrity through 6S, m-tags, FAR (Failure analysis)/ PFCs/ SARs and CIP (Continuous improvement program) execution. Ensure all monthly deliverables are met for TPM program.
- Drive alignment/ benchmarking opportunities between global sites, teams/ Shifts to drive systemic improvements and best in class performance.
- Drive and support programs to improve equipment uptime or availability
- Long term down (LTD) reduction, precision maintenance, Preventive maintenance (PM) scheduling, unscheduled down (UD) time reduction, parts management etc.
- Use systematic approach to resolve “Long term down”, (LTD) equipment, executes long-term down action plans; understands when to escalate to the next level. Applies decision making methods using data, established guidelines, procedures and judgment (KT PA/DA/PPA, 5 Why’s, etc.)
- Understand and help improve best known methods and area documentations for maintenance and recovery procedures, mentoring other team members
- Contribute in KT, Fishbone or similar troubleshooting or problem-solving sessions on difficult fixes and hard down situations
- Resolves recurring problems by identifying and eliminating root cause; follows up by writing equipment related ECNs and includes data to justify changes when appropriate
- Demonstrates an understanding of the area processes and how a change in equipment conditions can affect the process
- Collect data and mentor others to assist in deep dive analysis on tool performance and tool matching
- Reacts appropriately to Tool trends or yield concerns escalated by peer groups
- Collaborates with EO’s to drive improved PM performance by executing to G2G, qual time, First Qual pass, TLD reduction and other performance to plan metric goals/ objectives
- Prioritize tasks based on immediate area needs and spends good chunk of time each week working in Fab with Shift teams on tactical issues, monitoring plans/ execution to avoid long term down tools.
- COST: Assist in managing workstation cost goals, identify reduction opportunities with repair and maintenance cost Repair and Maintenance
- Understand and help improve best known methods and area documentations for maintenance and recovery procedures, mentoring other team members
- Build or continuously improve the reaction mechanisms and procedures

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective priority-setting.
- The ability to act as leader and effectively drive small teams as TPM team lead.
- Self-motivated with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor process flows.
- Knowledge and experience with statistical process control (SPC).
- Understanding of problem-solving methodologies such as Kepner-Tregoe and Six Sigma.
- Must be willing/able to work weekends or evenings as needed.

**Education/Experience Requirements**:

- Minimum B.S. degree in one of field below (Preferred but not required)
- Required: 2+ years of work experience as Equipment Maintenance or Equipment Engineer in semiconductor industry **or **5+ years working in similar equipment type roles in Dry Etch.
- Preferred: Prior experience working on LAM tools (LAM 2300, KIYO, EX/ FX series, Cronus) or AMAT (PRODUCER, Enabler, CENTRIS or CENTURA TOOLS)

Academic Discipline(s): Electronics, Electrical, Micro-Electronics, Physics, Materials Science or Chemical Engineering
