**About The Job**
The Assistant Cook will assist the Chief Cook to enhance dietary operations and other food services in Peacehaven Nursing Home.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist in preparing, managing and cooking food according to standard dietary regulations for handling food as per MoH guidelines
- Assist in preparing special meals to meet dietary needs of residents according to Dietician’s guidelines
- Maintain a clean, safe and efficient work environment
- Assist in managing all resources and food supplies effectively so as to eliminate unnecessary waste and prevent unnecessary expenditure
- Assist in managing and maintaining inventory of crockery, utensils, foodstuffs and donations as per policy and procedure
- Ensure that dietary equipment is maintained in clean and good working order
- Assist in training, mentoring and supervising dietary staff on their job requirement in the absence of a cook
- Assist in ensuring regular scheduled “deep” cleaning and maintenance of dietary department
- Assist in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the dietary department
- Assist in delivering food/items to RLA/Dining Rooms and return kitchen food tray trolleys in the absence of Operations Assistant (Dietary)
**Working Hours**
44 working hours per 6 working days according to roster.
**Qualifications**
- Minimum GCE N/O’Level or Nitec and above in Food and Beverage handling
- At least 2 years of working experience in the related field
**Competencies**
- Ability to work under pressure and be flexible
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
