As an Investigation Officer, you will be involved in the investigation of all food safety infringements to ensure food available to the nation is safe.

**Duties**
- Investigate into all offences under the purview of SFA.
- Investigate alleged food safety cases.
- Make recommendations on appropriate enforcement actions eg issuance of compositions, prosecution or court summons.
- Review appeals and recommend appropriate follow-up.
- Produce detailed investigative papers and ensure that the cases are conducted according to the Criminal Procedure Code and SFA’s standard investigating/operating procedures.
- Ensure high standards of investigations/field operations are maintained at all times.
- Maintain close monitoring of cases under his purview and pursue all available leads in conducting raids and field operations to solve the case.
- Consider the issues in the conduct of investigations and field operations such as the types of evidence to gather, strategies to identify the offenders and procedures to adopt to solve the case.
- Assist the Prosecution Officer in Court prosecution cases.
- Apprise his supervisor on cases or persons of interest, trends or peculiarities which require attention or actions.
- Take over cases for investigations/operations or perform any other duties as directed by the supervisor Help with the formulation and review of SFA’s Investigation and Enforcement policies and processes.

**Requirements**:

- A university degree
- Previous experience in law enforcement, regulatory and investigation work preferred
- Good analytical, written, communication and management skills
- Good IT knowledge and skills
- Able to work independently and as a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours
- Able to remain composed and focused in demanding situations Good PR skills

The following would be advantageous:

- Knowledge of administrative and enforcement procedures
- Knowledge on State Courts prosecution process
- Ability to teach and guide others on investigative matters and processes Valid Class 3 licence
