**About the Team and Role**
We are seeking a visionary Director of Engineering to lead our User Department, overseeing our Digital Currencies, Retail Brands and New Verticals teams to new heights of innovation and efficiency. As the driving force behind our technical strategy, you will oversee the development and optimization of our product offerings. You’ll grow our Content Verticals department, hiring engineering managers, and have three direct reports.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide strategic direction and technical leadership for the Content Vertical engineering teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Lead and mentor a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Define and execute the technical roadmap for the Content Vertical team, identifying opportunities for optimization, innovation, and growth.
- Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our platforms.
- Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and capacity planning to optimise efficiency and maximise ROI.
**What we're looking for**:
- Proven track record of leadership and management experience in a technology-driven organisation
- Strong technical background with expertise in software engineering, system design, and architecture.
- Experience leading and scaling engineering teams, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Deep understanding of web technologies, cloud computing, microservices architecture, and modern software development practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Strategic thinker with a passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and delivering impactful solutions.
- Experience working in an Agile environment and driving agile methodologies and best practices.
