Singapore Science and Technology Policy And Plans Office Full time

**What the role is**
- S&TPPO works with stakeholder agencies in selected topical areas (e.g. Energy and Sustainability) to develop integrated science and technology plans and where needed take initial lead over projects (schedule, budget, inter-dependencies, risk management and key deliverables) that would enable stronger technology adoption or outcomes across public sector agencies.

**What you will be working on**
- To exercise oversight with embedded S&T Planning teams in the areas of Climate Change and Sustainability, in consultation with management and various stakeholders (e.g. S&T Pathways to support Power decarbonation needs, Systems-of-systems study for climate change adaption).
- To advocate strong adoption for S&T (end to end) and partner agencies to develop strategies in the areas of Climate Change and Sustainability, creating innovations, improving policies, processes and developing people to catalyse in-country capabilities.
- In partnership with other S&TPPO directorates, identify from Ministries’ family S&T masterplan and WoG systems architectures, opportunities for cross-Ministries strategic programme with interdependencies that required close coordination or leadership for new concept to emerge that could derive for more effective WoG optimisation and efficient implementation
- To develop doctrines and framework to systematise the build up of ops-tech capabilities in public sector agencies
- People Management
- Develop and lead the CCSSTO and FEPT officers (embedded in NCCS and EMA respectively), to ensure they are plugged in to S&TPPO and are given the appropriate developmental opportunities to hone their programme management/ policy formulation skillsets.
- Develop suitable metrics to recognize innovations, improvements and knowledge sharing efforts
- Guide and mentor junior officers in various aspects of engagement with broader public service and project management

**What we are looking for**
- Strong tertiary background in science, engineering or math, with at least 15 years of working experience in a related field. The incumbent should also possess strong influencing & collaboration qualities, analytical abilities and a broad sense of perspective.
