**About the job
We are looking for a VP Operations to join Kalera’s EMEA & Asia Leadership team, who will be based in Singapore. Leading the bioscience, engineering, and technical operations team, you will be responsible for optimizing the end-to-end operations of our highly automated Indoor Farms in Singapore and Kuwait and take ownership for their P&Ls. This is a hands-on role where you will be driven by high-quality and safety standards. In short, you are here to ensure that our farms produce the freshest, tastiest, and cleanest greens in the world

**Please note that this role requires a high amount of international travel.

**What you'll do**
- Take ownership of the farms’ P&L and report to the Managing Director EMEA & Asia
- Manage end-to-end operations of the farms, work cross-functionally to solve problems, and implement changes to optimize production
- Provide leadership and guidance to team members
- Utilize analytical tools to study and track key metrics to improve operational effectiveness
- Oversee the hiring, training, and monitoring of the technical operations staff
- Ensure that the facility and all personnel operate safely at all times and promote an environment where safety is a priority
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives as related to operations, food safety, and employee safety
- Work closely with the global Head of R&D and Sales teams to refine products and expand our product portfolio
- Plan and coordinate the maintenance of equipment
- Develop operation performance and productivity goals based on the annual business plan and continuously strive to improve performance
- Participate actively in community and employee engagement by promoting an inclusive and fun environment

**What you'll need**
- A Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Operations or Business Management
- 7+ years of experience in operations, maintenance, engineering, and/or process improvement roles including people management in the food industry or another process industry (beverages, oil&gas, chemicals, pharma, etc.)
- Hands-on experience in operations and maintenance, especially in troubleshooting and optimization of plant operations and equipment is a must
- Curiosity for plant science and a passion for good food
- Excellent and adaptive leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people across different geographies
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Very professional verbal and written communication skills in English, other languages are a plus
