Singapore NAC National Arts Council Full time

The Assistant Director, International Relations will play a key role in advancing the international presence and partnerships of the National Arts Council of Singapore. This position requires a strategic and diplomatic approach to foster relationships with international arts organisations, governments, cultural institutions, and multilateral networks. This role will report to the Deputy Director for Strategic Partnerships & Engagement.

**What you will be working on**
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the international profile of Singapore arts and culture and showcase Singapore arts on a global stage.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with international partners to facilitate collaborations, exchanges, and joint initiatives.
- Lead and mentor a team of International Relations specialists to ensure effective coordination and execution of international engagement activities.
- Coordinate, communicate, and work closely with key government agencies, ministries, and statutory boards to align international engagement efforts with national priorities and initiatives.
- Establish and maintain strong bilateral and multilateral relationships with foreign embassies,agencies and networks to facilitate and foster cultural exchanges and collaborations.
- Collaborate with internal departments and functional units within NAC to align international engagement efforts with the Council's overall objectives and programmes.
- Lead the planning and execution of international cultural events, diplomatic exchanges, ceremonies or similar events.
- Stay abreast of global trends and developments in the arts and culture sector to inform the Council's international strategies.

**What are we looking for**
- A strong background in international relations, cultural diplomacy, or related fields, with at least 8 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in managing international partnerships and projects within the arts and culture sector or equivalent.
- Excellent leadership, written, communication, negotiation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders at an international level.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to develop and execute long-term international engagement plans.
- A passion for the arts and a deep understanding of Singapore's cultural landscape.
