**Roles & Responsibilities
1. Dual Certification and Registration:
The WSHO cum ECO must be registered with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer.

The individual must also be registered with the National Environment Agency (NEA) as an Environmental Control Officer.

3. Ensuring Compliance with WSH and Environmental Legislation:
The WSHO cum ECO is responsible for ensuring that all works are planned and executed in strict compliance with all Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) and Environmental legislative requirements.

This includes ensuring adherence to the Workplace Safety and Health Act, Environmental Protection and Management Act, and other relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines.

Compliance with both the legislative requirements and contractual safety and environmental obligations is a key responsibility of the WSHO cum ECO.

4. Safety and Health Management:
Plan and implement safety procedures: The WSHO cum ECO must develop and maintain a Safety Management System (SMS) that addresses all hazards related to the project.

Monitor and review work processes to ensure they are carried out safely and in compliance with the WSH regulations.

Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate risks before work begins.

Carry out safety inspections on-site to identify any unsafe conditions or work practices and take corrective actions as needed.

Ensure that all workers are trained and competent in safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety measures.

5. Environmental Management and Control:
Develop and implement an Environmental Management System (EMS) to ensure compliance with all environmental regulations, especially concerning noise control, air and water pollution, and waste management.

Conduct environmental audits and inspections to ensure the site remains compliant with the National Environment Agency (NEA) guidelines and environmental regulations.

Oversee the safe disposal of waste and ensure that waste management practices meet environmental standards.

Monitor for potential environmental hazards, such as air or water pollution, and take corrective actions to mitigate environmental risks.

6. Compliance with Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Control at Work Zones:
The WSHO cum ECO must be familiar with the Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Control at Work Zones and ensure full compliance with this code throughout the project.

This includes overseeing the planning and implementation of temporary traffic control measures to ensure the safety of workers, motorists, and pedestrians around the work zone.

Conduct regular inspections of traffic control setups to ensure they meet the required safety standards, and adjust measures as needed to minimize risks.

Work closely with authorities and stakeholders to coordinate traffic management plans and ensure smooth operation around the work area.

7. Incident Investigation and Reporting:
The WSHO cum ECO must investigate all safety, health, or environmental incidents, near misses, and accidents that occur on-site.

Prepare incident reports and recommend corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.

Ensure that all incidents are reported to the relevant authorities in accordance with regulatory requirements.

8. Collaboration and Communication:
Liaise with contractors, supervisors, workers, and external authorities to ensure all safety, health, and environmental standards are upheld.

Provide safety and environmental briefings to workers, supervisors, and stakeholders to keep them informed of the latest developments and expectations.

Act as the point of contact for regulatory inspections and audits related to safety, health, and environmental matters.

**Requirement**:

- At least 2 years of relevant experience in construction industry preferably 2 years with developer/main contractor
- Must be a registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer with MOM and have been practicing as WSHO for at least 2 years in Experience
- Has developed a Risk Management Implementation Plan (bizSAFE Level 2) or equivalent
- Good communication skills
