What You Will Achieve

You will be part of a dynamic team of experts who form Pfizer’s Environmental, Health & Safety division. Due to the importance of this team for employees and patients, the organization relies heavily on its team members’ timely actions and decision-making ability. In this role you will provide professional advice on the implementation of a new production facility at the production and packaging sites. You will work as part of the local EHS team on tasks in the areas of occupational safety, hazardous substance management, fire and explosion protection as well as machine and system safety. You will participate in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections and in any procedures that may follow a citation.

As a Manager, you provide guidance to operational teams for managing projects. Your planning skills will help in preparing forecasts for resource requirements and providing areas of improvement for products, processes, or services. Through your comprehensive knowledge of principles, concepts and theories of the discipline, you will also work towards advancing new concepts and methodologies. You will be able to take a leadership role to facilitate agreements between different teams.

How You Will Achieve It
- Ensure compliance with governmental regulations, Pfizer standards and industry standards.
- Conduct internal and external benchmarking and lead the implementation of improvements to the PSM program.
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and sustainable results across PSM projects/programs, assessments and resulting action plans.
- Lead the efforts to assure implementation of identified actions in accordance with identified target dates.
- Defines and implements the strategic direction for capital projects and facility changes related to process safety.
- Monitor emerging process safety requirements throughout the Industry and initiate proactive gap closure actions of industry best practices
- Manage and lead the activities of the Process Safety Team to ensure process safety regulatory compliance and department goals and initiatives are achieved as well as establish the expectations of behavior for the process safety culture in the site.
- Create competence requirements and curriculum for Process Safety training for all colleagues.
- Assure an internal process safety management gap assessment in conducted annually.
- Develops risk assessment methods and tools for anticipating, identifying, and evaluating hazards.
- Managing and assisting with the mitigation of identified gaps and improvement opportunities
- Ensuring the site has prioritized (risk-based), actionable strategies and that effective metrics are utilized to monitor progress and performance.

**Qualifications**:
Must-Have
- BS from an accredited institution in Chemical Engineering or equivalent technical degree.
- At least 15 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Pharmaceutical API experience preferred.
- Possessing a working knowledge of the PSM 14 elements and CCPS good practices.
- Experience performing Process Hazard Analysis, Hazard Failure Modes Effects Analysis or other risk assessment and quantification methodologies.
- Excellent Project Management and problem solving skills.
