**Job Summary
Reporting to Head, Underwriting (Singapore), this role exists to implement the Company’s Underwriting (“UW”) policies and ensure delivery of the agreed service standards.

**_The key result indicators for this role are: _**
- Supports the development of the UW team and effective case handling and professional service delivery.
- Handles case sign-off in collaboration with Sales & Distribution (S&D) and with the support of the Head, Underwriting (Singapore).
- Support the overall team implementation of new initiatives to enhance the UW operation.

**Responsibilities**
- Achieves UW turnaround within targets and with a quality service to the business partners.
- Ensure close collaboration across the team to ensure service levels are maintained.
- Works closely with Compliance, CMO, reinsurers and the case approvers to ensure a smooth and timely case decision.
- Proactively contributes to the case UW when necessary to ensure service levels are not missed.
- Builds strong relationships with business partners
- Ensures timely and effective communication of the UW service levels to Head, Underwriting (Singapore).
- Supports the development of the UW team by actively participating in internal training sessions.
- Handle special projects and other assignments as delegated.

**Requirements**:

- Possess a degree qualification and having professional qualification; LOMA, ALU, ALUCA or CII will be desirable.
- Minimum 5 years of Life & Health UW experience.
- Proficient UW skills medically and financially
- Experienced in working directly with distribution partners.
- Able to work under pressure and independently when required.
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Good inter-personal skills with energy and driveAbility to communicate and justify UW decisions made in a confident, calm and clear manner.
