Library / Media Center Director

**JOB SCOPE**:
- Able to oversee and maintain the ICS Library / Media Center.
- Ensure smooth operation of the Library / Media Center.
- Maintain all aspects of the Library / Media Center (books, Library Management System, periodicals, and equipment.
- Ensure the Library environment is inviting, and flexible for conducive learning.
- Provide necessary support to Students, Faculty, Parents, and Administration.
- Able to Teach Library, Information Literacy, and Technology skills.
- Able to supervise Library Assistants, Volunteers, and part-time Librarians in printing, accelerated Reading Programs, and resources.
- Co-teach Inquiry and Digital Design and introduce a variety of literature to Grades K4-5 students.
- Teach Library Research skills to Grades 1-5 to students.
- Work with Secondary Teachers to assist in the teaching of and development of research skills.
- Collaborate with Teachers on Project-Based Learning units.
- Oversee a reconsideration committee of Teachers and Administration that deals with books whose contents have been questioned and are being reconsidered.
- Able to curate quality, diverse, inclusive, and relevant resources for the school.
- Able to promote reading programs throughout the year
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or in Education.
- Knowledge of library management systems, preferably Follett Destiny.
- Experience with teaching research and technology.
- Prior school Library/Media Center experience preferred.
