Events Project Manager

The Events Project Manager is a hybrid role in that it includes aspects of leadership, account management and operations delivery.
- Coordination and management of medium/ large-scale high level event projects from start to completion.
- Act as a key point of contact with clients, providing a consultative approach to program planning, and ensuring the client has identified clear objectives for the outcome of the project.
- Assist in creating event concept and format suggestions, selling in the solution to the client/prospect.
- Create proposal and develop/procure costs in facilitating new and repeat business proposals.
- Revenue management of projects, including project reconciliation and working with the Head of Operations on final program billing and reporting of P&L to Finance.
- Strong and efficient project management skills, as well as budget management, monitoring and optimization.
- Ability in selecting, negotiating and contracting hotels and venues.
- Coordination with service providers and suppliers, managing all the event logistics including but not limited to: food & beverage requirements, room blocks, ground transportation, technical provisioning, media and production (audiovisual), speaker bureaus, entertainment and décor elements.
- Day-to-day supervision of project tasks, quality control, time, change and resources management of projects.
- Train and coach team members (Assistant Event Manager, Event Coordinator or Intern) and provide ongoing support to new team members Escalate feedback/suggested changes to Executive Director.
**Main Requirements**
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in event management in the region, and diverse industry knowledge, including at least 2 years handling large and complex events.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing external partners, suppliers and vendors, sourcing and negotiating contract services.
- The inherent ability to work seamlessly under pressure whilst adapting to ever-changing scenarios.
- Proven organisation and delivery of complex, medium and large-scale online and physical event projects (brand activations, conferences, meetings, congresses, etc), with proven experience in account management and budget management.
- Excellent communication and customer-oriented skills.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Strong project and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a team and lead it to defined objectives.
- Good knowledge of online conferencing and engagement tools and platforms, including but not limited to Cvent, Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex.
- Excellent knowledge of English is mandatory (any other language will be considered an asset),
- General knowledge of social media and digital services.
- Focus on qualitative, creative and sustainable event services.
- Ability to travel for work when required.
