**Job Summary:
The role assists the VP of Stakeholder Engagement - APAC in overseeing the ICANN APAC regional office’s overall engagement strategy and activities. Managing a small team, the role will coordinate the APAC Regional Engagement Plan’s execution partnering relevant teams in ICANN as well as external stakeholders.

The role requires strong diplomatic, organisational, planning, analytical, educational and outreach related skills needed to fulfil multiple responsibilities required for the successful engagement of all regional stakeholders, including government, private sector and civil society.

**Key Responsibilities & Duties**:

- Assist the VP, Stakeholder Engagement - APAC, to develop, implement and refine the APAC Regional Plan in consultation with the APAC Community, in line with the ICANN Strategic Plan.
- Lead in cross-functional collaboration and coordination with the relevant teams in ICANN to implement the APAC Regional Plan.
- Lead in the analysis of information and data for the purpose of identifying gaps and trends.
- Lead in programs/initiatives, partnering relevant teams in ICANN as well as the regional community.
- Manage regional resources, including budget and the effective deployment and management of applicable consultants and vendors
- Support the VP in working with the Stakeholder Engagement Managers, APAC to develop and refine their engagement strategies and tactics in line with the APAC Regional Plan.
- Establish and maintain key relationships with regional stakeholders including government, domain name registries and registrars, Internet companies, network operators, academia and civil society.
- Handle relationship management and communication across different stakeholder groups, solving problems and escalating to internal colleagues as needed.
- Advance interests through public education of ICANN, and actively communicate ICANN’s policies and processes to stakeholders.
- Represent ICANN in external engagement, speaking at public policy fora, tech industry gatherings and Internet community meetings
- Partner the ICANN Communications team on the development and execution of the regional office’s communications strategy, and contribute content on social media and blogs.
- Monitor, identify and analyze developments in the region affecting the Internet and ICANN, such as policy/regulatory issues.
- Manage a small team of Stakeholder Engagement Analysts/Specialists.
- Other duties as assigned or requested

**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)**:

- Exceptional communication and writing skills
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, including ability to prioritize and manage competing demands on time
- Entrepreneurial drive with respect to developing and implementing engagement programs
- Comfortable to lead and guide cross-team initiatives through influence rather than authority
- Strong analytical skills, including ability to dive deep on regulations by understanding how legislative and regulatory proposals may impact ICANN’s mission
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people in a multi-cultural environment with respect for diversity.
- Comfortable working in ambiguous environments; self-starter that can use good judgment and resourcefulness to take action in the absence of clear guidance
- Keen interest in Domain Name System, emerging technologies, Internet governance, engagement across different stakeholder groups, relationship management, and communications
- Proficiency using MS Office, Google Documents and keen to learn new software such as Salesforce and other platforms
- Maintain highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality and integrity

**Education and Experience Requirements**:

- Bachelor's Degree required (Master’s Degree preferred), preferably in Public Policy, International Affairs, Communications, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or computer related field.

**Experience**:

- Minimum ten (10) years of work experience in a multinational business, intergovernmental or international organization.
- Prior international experience, including people manager experience preferred
- Knowledge of ICANN, the Internet and the Domain Name System preferred but not required

Languages:

- Fluency, both written and spoken, in English is required
- Business competency in at least one additional language - preferably any of the official United Nations languages
