**What you will be working on**:
**Responsibilities**
As the Aquatics Safety Manager (Games Services, Operation Services) at the World Aquatics Championships 2025, you play a pivotal role in supporting the Deputy/Assistant Director to oversee all aspects related to Accreditation, Safety & Security, Medical, & Victory Ceremony for the games and events. Your responsibilities include successful planning, coordination, and execution of these crucial aspects. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders will create a memorable and impactful experience for all participants and spectators.
In this role, You will,
**Safety, Security and Medical Services**
- To conduct safety and risk assessment for all competition and non-competition venues and sports.
- To develop safety and risk requirements, policies, procedures, management and response plans for World Aquatic Championships (WAC) & World Aquatic Masters Championships (WAMC).
- To put in place policies and implementation plans for managing safety during event bump-in, during games and bump-out with appointed venue managers for their venues and sports for WAC & WAMC.
- Ensure that safe systems of work are employed by maintaining up-to-date risks assessment and associated policies in accordance with Singapore related and relevant governing laws and acts.
- Evaluate all risks association with hazards identified in all competition and non-competition venues and sports as assigned.
- Act as the first point of contact for the organising team for any issue concerning health and safety.
- Ensure the health and well-being of athletes, officials, and spectators during the event.
- Coordinate and manage appointed service providers for safety, security and medical that may include professionals like doctors, and nurses, and as directed by reporting officer.
- Ensure that the appointed safety, security and medical teams are adequately trained, organized, and prepared for the event.
- Ensure all accidents and incidents are correctly reported and recorded and assist the team with trend analysis of near misses and accidents.
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained and information is only shared on a ‘need to know’ basis.
- Provision of support to games services areas as and when assigned by reporting officer.
- To be assigned to Competition team during Open Water Swim (OWS) during games time as ‘Safety Officer’ with following scope of works:
- Responsible to Chief Referee for all aspect of safety related to the conduct of the competition
- Conduct checks on the entire course is safe, suitable, and free of obstruction
- Ensure sufficient powered safety crafts are available during the competition so as to provide full safety backup to the escort safety craft
- Develop and draft tide/ current chart with clear indication the time of tide changes on the course and showing the effect of tides/ current on competitors’ progress along the course
- To work closely with appointed Medical Officer for OWS to apprise the Chief Referee in the event of unsuitable conditions for staging the competition and provide professional recommendations for the modification of the course and /or the conduct of the competition.
- To monitor temperature condition as required during the race.

- A minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant role for safety, security and medical preferably in aquatic sports or events.
- Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management, or a related field.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong ability to engage with stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment under mínimal supervision.
- Familiarity with the aquatic sports industry is an advantage.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and travel as needed during the event, including weekends and holidays.
