Shipyard Operations Manager

**JOB SUMMARY**:
To manage, lead and oversee all aspects of daily operations for all manufacturing, manufacturing support and administrative functions needed to support shipyard operations. Responsibilities include, project execution including maintaining quality standards, cost effectiveness and time management to ensure projects are on time and within budget.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITY**:
1. Manage team and provides supervision to supervisors and foremen.
2. Directs activities in areas of safety and personnel, production, scheduling, material handling and quality and ensures compliance with all Safety, Quality, Company and Regulatory directives.
3. Directs and coordinates shipyard operations within company policies and procedures.
4. Responsible for providing the quantity and quality of workers to meet schedule and budget. With assistance of Senior Manager, trains assigned craft supervisors in safety, cost control, job skills, quality and scheduling.
5. Directs all phases of Hydro blasting, spray painting, power tooling, and cleaning work.
6. Creates and prioritizes necessary resources and steps required to accomplish goals on time.
7. Determines plant improvements and repairs along with costs and schedules.
8. Ensures product quality control goals are met and maintained as per the shipyard policies.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
1. Minimum 12 years’ experience in managerial role or other management level responsibilities in a shipyard environment.
2. In depth knowledge of all business functions associated with shipyard management.
3. Ability to understand and administer Classification guidelines
5. Considerable knowledge in all areas of shipbuilding and repair, material handling, labour, safety and product related state and federal regulations and practices.
6. Proactive with good problem-solving skills, resourceful and able to work towards deadlines with right sense of urgency
7. Possess good communication and interpersonal skills with outstanding proficiency in English and Tamil.
