The ISEAS - Yusof Ishak Institute is a leading research centre dedicated to the study of socio-political, security and economic trends and developments in Southeast Asia and its wider geostrategic and economic development. Applications are invited for:
Research Officer, Regional Social and Cultural Studies - 1 Year Contract

**[What you will be working on]**

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the RSCS coordinator with the programme's project Non-violent Extremism and Trendsetters of Islam in Southeast Asia, as well as other core projects, seminar series, operations, and external relations;
- Assist in the editing of reports and publications by RSCS researchers;
- Perform ISEAS institutional duties;
- Undertake a research project in collaboration with an RSCS researcher that will result in ISEAS written products.

**[What we are looking for]**

**Requirements**:

- University degree in social sciences or related fields, preferably in Southeast Asian Studies, Malay Studies, Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, History, Geography; an advanced degree would be an advantage;
- Good communication and writing skills in English;
- Experience in copy-editing and other forms of editorial work would be highly desirable
- Proficiency in web and social media editing and content management would be an advantage;
- Positive work attitude, a high sense of professionalism, and ability to work under demanding circumstances.
