**Job Description**:
**OVERVIEW**

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Shoot material for use in edited packages with creative and expert camera operation
- Edit a variety of news and feature material (interviews, packages, picture sequences, etc) primarily for digital channels with an entertaining and informative approach
- Provide creative briefs and work closely with a small unit to brainstorm unique and innovative story-telling approaches
- Liaise closely with the digital content team to produce quality graphics and visual content
- Edit and perform quality controlling and mastering material for external distribution
- Maintain clear curatorial oversight of footage
- Ensure that packages meet CNBC’s editorial standards and integrity expectations
- Integrate plug-and-play digital solutions for newsroom operations, such as the setup and management of livestream softwares, switchers, audio mixers, LiveUs
- Perform quality assurance of edited material pre broadcast on multimedia platforms and ensure that all work is completed to a high technical multi-formatted standard
- Strong creative input into material produced
- Ensure all items meet their allocated deadlines
- Provide ad-hoc editing services to other departments as required
- Liaise with colleagues across varying levels in newsroom, digital, operations, commercial, as required

**Qualifications**:
**SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS**
- Experience in operating camera equipment, ideally in a news environment
- Prior experience editing with motion graphics software (After Effects/Apple Motion) and presenting materials creatively
- Possesses fast, adaptable non-linear editing skills; experience in long-form craft editing would be advantageous
- Excellent sense of pace and timing leading to effective management of projects and deadlines
- Demonstrated editorial acumen when selecting footage to ensure that the package is accurate and within context
- Interpret and communicate ideas effectively, i.e. be able to visualize and express written words in pictures and sound to achieve producers or journalists’ vision
- Present creativity and meaningful thought process when editing sequences from available footage
- Work closely and constructively with other team members across the editorial team, as well independently when required, and demonstrate sound judgement on shot and audio selections
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently under extreme time pressure
- Detail oriented and computer literate
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A positive and flexible attitude, willingness to learn new skills, embrace and nurture a culture of change
- A flexible attitude to working different shifts or hours occasionally when required
