Managing Director, Japanese and Korean Corporate

**Purpose of the position**
- To assume responsibility for facilitating the Japanese and Korean Corporate Banking (JBAP) business in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region by providing advice and offering solutions to JBAP customers.
- To lead the team of staff in JBAP and oversee their activities.
**Background**
JBAP Singapore team shall promote and manage business related to Japanese and Korean companies in Singapore and in charge of overseeing Japanese business transactions in the Asia-Pacific region according to the Bank's management policies.
**Responsibilities**:
This position shall perform the following duties within the business promotion and business management with relation to transactions conducted by Japanese and Korean corporates in Singapore.
- Formulate comprehensive plans for the achievement of higher performance, and take charge of administration and management thereof
- Develop specific measures for making efficient use of management resources, and take charge of implementation and furtherance thereof
- Take charge of conducting and maintaining the moneylending business, and increasing deposits
- Take charge of facilitation of domestic exchange transactions, foreign exchange transactions and other tasks
- Strictly exercise profit management, and endeavor to assure and increase profits
- Promote good relationship with customers or other business connections, and strive to establish foundations for achieving higher performance
- Take charge of establishing and promoting a bank-wide cooperation business framework
- Take charge of administering, managing and improving overall administrative affairs in the office.
- Endeavor to enforce observance of regulations and instructions of the Global Banking Unit, and take charge of maintaining and administering discipline in the office
- Strive to develop better relationship in the office, stimulate morale
- Develop and implement plans for education and training for subordinates, and provide guidance on and supervise performance of duties thereof
- Manage the working situation of subordinates, and handle various matters regarding personnel affairs and welfare
- This role shall request department representative offices (including other units) based in the same office to deliver reports as necessary, and take charge of daily business management of the entire office
**Job Requirements**
- **Education Qualifications**
- Graduate degree from university
- Strong written & verbal communication skills in English
- **Experience**
- Minimum 15 years Banking & Finance experience.
- Leading and managing teams.
- At least 10 years of Corporate Banking experience
- **Skills**

- Proficiency in Japanese is advantageous as this role requires presenting and communicate to Japanese corporate clients whose main language is Japanese. This role also needs to prepare and present reports in Japanese and read Japanese financial statements

- Strong numerical and financial skills with the ability to interpret financial information and able to design and use financial models
- Good understanding of the functioning of various departments / teams in the organization
