Product Designer

**The Role**:You will be hired as part of the Design team, but work closely with the Security team. As part of the Design team, enjoy a supportive and tight-knit design community of designers based all across SEA, with an open and curiosity-driven design culture that encourages feedback and growing professionally together.

**Product team**:Our API team strives to build world-class APIs and provide the best developer experience for our customers, as well as build scalable platforms for internal teams to deliver secure and reliable products faster to customers. This means designing simple, intuitive APIs and clear documentation that allow our internal and external customers to integrate seamlessly with any Xendit products.

We are currently looking for a designer who is keen on tackling complex technical challenges that require cross-functional collaboration and systemic thinking. You will work closely with developers to identify touch points in the developers’ journey that can be improved. Examples include designing the journey for how developers might interact with our integration tutorials, API Reference, Libraries/SDKs as well as the interfaces for monitoring webhook reliability, security, and performance.

**Responsibilities**:**_These are some of the activities that you will be involved / assisting in:

- Design solutions with a focus on the Developer’s experience for our customers
- Conduct stakeholder interviews and customer research to identify problems and their root causes, as well as areas for improvement
- Engage with customers to test and validate solutions
- Map user journeys for the developer persona across products and platforms to create a seamless solution
- Collaborate with PMs, developers, designers and other stakeholders to align on product strategy and limitations to design the best Developer’s experience
- Contribute ideas in relation to the API reference, to improve the usability and understandability of our documentation
- Do whatever it takes to make Xendit succeed

**You may be a good fit if you**:

- Have a good understanding of design and usability principles
- Are able to create designs with challenging constraints (tech and business)
- Are proficient in using any of the following: Sketch/ XD/ Figma
- Can switch between working independently and being a team player
- Design with critical thinking: Create solutions with a hypothesis-driven problem solving mindset that seeks to validate desirability, usability, and other assumptions by conducting research / testing
- Have prior experience or keen interest in user research, engaging and observing customers to understand their needs, pain points, and summarising these into actionable insights
- Have deep interest in technical products and service design
- Have experience or keen interest in facilitating workshops and cross-functional brainstorming sessions
- Are highly adaptable and able to deal with ambiguities and an unstructured work environment - we are growing fast, breaking things and constantly iterating
- Thrive on autonomy and have proven you can push towards a goal by yourself without requiring hands-on guidance, detailed reqs and instructions
- Speed to good quality output: Able to put together low-fi sketches, mid-fidelity wireframes to high fidelity mockups for review, within a reasonable timeframe
- Communicate well across teams

Bonus points if you have
- Worked in the Financial Services sector or understand how payments work
- Prior experience working as a software engineer and/ or designing for Developers’ experience in technical products
- A background or educational qualifications in Human-Centered Design, Computer Science
- Worked for a high growth start-up before
