**COMPANY's BRIEF INTRODUCTION**

NYK Bulkship (Asia) Pte. Ltd. was established in 1975 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK Line), Tokyo, Japan. Main activity is to operate tankers and dry bulk carriers for international trade, as well as to develop businesses around energy transportation and supply chain solutions including LNG and other alternative fuels. We also provide shipping and sales services related to NYK Line.

**JOB OUTLINE**

**Your duties essential for the job**:

- Provide marine, HSSE and QA support for the LNG fleet (including those under construction), cargo and port operations for shipping and logistics.
- Assist with the development of vessel specifications of LNG tankers.
- Manage relationships with marine consultants and provide professional input to project proposals and analyses.
- Assist with marine aspects of plan approval, construction supervision and delivery of the LNG tankers.
- Provide marine expertise in discussions with terminal developers and stakeholders (classification societies, insurers, coast guard, local authorities, etc).
- Provide marine, HSSE and QA expertise and with particular regard to cargo operations, safe navigation, port entry, port operations, nautical operations and marine operations including ship-to-ship transfer operations.
- Provide marine expertise in discussions with shore terminals and conducting ship-to-shore compatibility studies.
- Provide marine expertise in operating LNG tankers, assist with the implementation of LNG shipping solutions as per charter party agreements.
- Conduct ship vetting using the SIRE system.
- Conduct ship visits & inspections, due diligence visits to terminals and audits of vessel operators.
- Monitor HSSE regulatory changes and initiatives for fleet compliance and improvements in operational practices.
- Monitor future HSSE compliance of ship specifications with future business expansion plans and projects.
- Attend conferences and meetings of industry bodies such as SIGTTO and OCIMF/SIRE as required.
- Any other duties related to this role.
**Basic requirements**:

- Strong experience & knowledge in vessel operations, chartering and ship management (both commercial and technical) of LNG tankers.
- Excellent technical, analytical, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Sufficient sea-going experience as a senior deck officer on LNG tankers.
- Vigorous supporter of HSSE and QA related matters.
- Demonstrable experience in quality assurance, ship and terminal operations, marine and ship management.
- Ability to travel worldwide where necessary.
- Good command of both English and Japanese in writing, reading, listening and speaking and possess a minimum JPLT2 cert in Japanese language proficiency.
- Experience in managing and leading a team in business.
- Attentive to details, ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Positive attitude and ability to work under stress.
- A team player with transparent working manner and willing to take ownership of an opportunity and hands on every aspect of the job.
