Projects Analyst

Reporting to the APAC Regional Project Director, the **Projects Analyst **supports the regional projects team in development and implementation of selected projects from screening through to preparing the necessary project documentation for the approval of either a significant ideation/pilot phase or the final full project. The role holder oversees project implementation reporting for the region, coordinating with Project Managers to ensure accuracy of project progress in the project management database (currently Smartsheet) and reporting on impact against defined Alliance metrics.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Coordinate and run regional project team meetings with Regional Director, including stewardship of project deliverables, working with project managers to update project 1-sliders, analysis of project performance metrics
- Support the preparation of and follow-up of other regional meetings, associated working groups, informational webinars, and participants’ input. Co-lead individual working groups as appropriate.
- Support the team in managing early-stage relationships with third parties and sources of project ideas.
- Support the development of regional flagship programmes and the development of projects, aligned with portfolio priorities through upfront analysis of the landscape and possibly focused RFP campaigns to be developed and executed.
- Work closely with Portfolio and Process Specialist on quarterly metrics reporting using Projects data in Smartsheet, including all associated fields monitored for both the Projects pipeline and projects under implementation
- Develop in collaboration with regional project director, project partners and relevant workstreams an initial evaluation of project proposals, contacting project proposers for additional understanding as required; assess potential impact, prospects of success and fit with portfolio; document in Smartsheet database; develop project documentation and bring to Stage Gate 1 decision in a timely manner.
- Support individual projects as assigned through Idea Development to Stage Gate 2 and Scope Definition/Feasibility Study to Stage Gate 3.
- Maintain reporting and data in a timely and accurate manner as in coordination with the Projects Portfolio & Process Specialist and support the preparation of internal reporting.
- Coordinate accurate and timely contribution of information on projects (with Project Manager) and regional activities to the Alliance Members Portal.
- Lead smaller projects or other initiatives in the region.
**PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor degree in relevant field (e.g., engineering, environmental science, economics, public policy)
- 3+ years relevant experience with practical plastics or waste management industry experience and knowledge of sustainability topics and technologies
- Significant drive and results orientation; self-starter and able to work independently
- Good analytical skills to understand and summarize project proposals - scope, key objectives, expected outcome, strategic fit etc. Attention to detail is important.
- Can do attitude, problem solving skills, resourceful, new business development and learner mindset
- Able to manage broad set of simultaneous tasks and co-ordinate small teams of assigned member company staff.
- Excellent English communication skills - both written and oral.
- Highly personable and diplomatic, able to interface and influence project partner teams at all levels.
- The role involves interaction with Member Companies and project partners in the region, with potential for irregular working hours depending on time zone.
