EAST JAPAN RAILWAY COMPANY SINGAPORE BRANCH is a branch office of the well-known listed Japanese company, East Japan Railway Company (“the Headquarters”) in Japan which is operating mainly a rail-based transportation business as well as a wide range of businesses related to the rail-based transportation system. Our main aim is to support the overseas railway business of the headquarters by discovering and developing new railway businesses, researching railway-related information and supporting the railway-related businesses of JR East group companies in Singapore, other Southeast Asian countries and Oceania.

The manager is responsible for directing the liaison and coordination work between the branch office and the railway business department of the headquarters or overseas group companies, and acceptance of trainees from headquarters and creation of curriculum for railway human resource development.
This position is also responsible in parallelly for the general affairs, administration, finance, and accounting functions of the branch, and reporting directly to the directors or headquarters.

Roles and Responsibilities

Providing information to headquarters regarding new railway project or including tenders in Southeast Asia. Liaison function with customers when there is a request from the headquarters for the railway business in Southeast Asia. Curriculum development and preparation of trainees from the headquarters including visa matters. Budget planning, payment management, and exhibition planning when jointly holding railway-related international conferences and exhibitions with the headquarters. Assisting the general office affairs of the director, including managing and training the administration team. Branch budgeting management. Overall arrangements for business trips from the headquarters. (schedule adjustments with customers, etc.) Coordination with headquarters regarding branch assets, accounting and accounting documents. (Requires to work closely with headquarters’ finance and legal teams regarding legal requirements in budgeting and contract negotiations)

**Job Requirements**:
Bachelor’s degree or above in any discipline. More than 5 years of professional experience with railway operations. Has a good understanding in the international bidding process of railway projects. Possess deep knowledge and wide experiences in consolidated headquarters and branch offices reporting. More than 5 years of experiences in administration. Possess Japanese ability equivalent to Level 1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPTN1) as you will be required to work closely with the Headquarters’ railway business, finance and legal teams. Must possess analytical skills to work in a fast-paced environment. Preference will be given to those with experience in branch budgeting. Preference will be given to those with experiences in railway human resource development and training knowledge. Proven leadership and management abilities to strategize, prioritize, lead, inspire and motivate a team. Possess strong interpersonal and networking skills. Independent, mature and self-motivated.
