The Director of Business Development will focus on the further growth of the US (East Coast) with customer acquisition by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business. The Director of Business Development will target, identify, and qualify new business opportunities with current and potential clients. This individual must be well-spoken, energetic, and possess an eagerness to close new business and increase the company’s revenue streams.
They are the leading global data and technology platform for patient recruitment and enrolment in clinical trials. Driving global clinical trial enrolment by using SaaS platforms to enrol clinical trials on a global scale. Our flagship SaaS-based solution, tracks all recruitment activities while optimizing enrolment with real-time analytics.
**JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Develop and deploy strategic account plans for all target accounts that delineate goals and growth strategies for each relationship
- Represent the product, needs of the customer base, and marketplace to the appropriate line organizations, and work closely with marketing and product development to ensure tight alignment for the business roadmap.
- Presenting opportunities for evaluation that could expand the company’s market and product reach
- Developing in-depth knowledge of companies offerings to identify profitable business opportunities. Keep current with internal planning and development.
- Preparing all documentation required for requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Remain current on industry and specialty topics as needed to perform duties at the highest possible level.
- Provide administrative duties necessary to conduct roles such as file maintenance, e-records, and CRM tools.
- Identify target opportunities, and customers. Provide market feedback, and attend relevant conferences and events.
- Provide weekly status reports and forecast updates using relevant computerized or paper-based systems.
**EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS**
- 4+ years of high level sales experience with a track record selling high-value software or consulting solutions.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proven business development and sales experience.
- Strong business acumen.
- Detail-oriented and persuasive.
- Ability to navigate complex situations in global companies with strategic planning and execution.
- Established connections across the Life Science industry necessary. A well-connected rolodex of contacts in clinical trials groups.
- Experience in creating positive meeting opportunities with strong value to a diverse number of shareholders
- Experience with start-ups or smaller companies seen as desirable.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, and ability to articulate primary issues around the clinical trial arena.
- Experience working in a complex business environment with mínimal infrastructure and support
- Excellent verbal and written communication, coupled with an understanding of organizational dynamics
- Self-motivated and enterprising with the flexibility to work across functional boundaries as required.
